Post Flood Response

In the wake of the catastrophic 2024 floods, we invite professionals, innovators, and thinkers from all fields to contribute ideas and solutions for addressing the urgent challenges of sanitation, shelter rebuild, and waste disposal and management. This cross-disciplinary call seeks to leverage diverse expertise to develop affordable, scalable, and modular solutions that can be rapidly implemented in affected regions.

Key Challanges

Sanitation

Ensuring the provision of clean and safe sanitation facilities in areas where infrastructure has been severely compromised.

Clean Water Storage, Catching, and Purification

Developing effective methods for capturing, storing, and purifying water to ensure access to clean and safe drinking water in flood-affected areas.

Shelter Rebuild

Creating resilient, cost-effective, and quickly deployable housing solutions for displaced populations.

Waste Disposal and Management

Designing sustainable systems for managing and disposing of waste generated by the flood and its aftermath, with an emphasis on reducing environmental impact.

Key Focus

Affordability

Solutions should be economically feasible for broad application, especially in resource-limited settings.

Scalability

Ideas must be adaptable and expandable to serve large numbers of people and communities.

Modularity

Proposals should incorporate modular designs, enabling flexibility in construction and application to meet varying needs.

Recognitions

 
  • No monetary prize is offered, but the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the community and those in need is invaluable.
  • All participants will receive a certificate of recognition from Archtwist Ltd.
  • We will try to collaborate with government and non-government organizations to implement selected ideas based on merit and other considerations, with participants being integral members of the project teams.
  • Archtwist Ltd. will self-fund the development of a few prototypes in the affected areas.

Submit Idea

  1. Guidelines:
    • Team Size: Individual or group.
    • Submission Format:
      • Brief report (max 500 words).
      • Presentation (2 A3 sheets/You can choose your own format based on your content).
      • Accepted File Formats: PDF, JPEG.
      • File Size Limit: Max 50 MB.
    • Challenges: Address one, multiple, or combined challenges.
  1. Evaluation Criteria:
    • Innovation: Uniqueness and creativity of the solution.
    • Feasibility: Practicality and ease of implementation in real-world flood scenarios.
    • Cost-effectiveness: Budget-friendly and resource-efficient.
    • Scalability: Potential for wide application in flood-prone regions.
    • Impact: Ability to significantly improve post-flood conditions.

    • Project Summary: Overview of your idea (max 500 words).
    • Detailed Proposal: Concept outline, including design elements, implementation strategies, and technical details.
    • Supporting Materials: Drawings, diagrams, or visual aids.
  1. File Upload Instructions:
    • Upload Files: Use Google Drive, OneDrive, or WeTransfer.
    • Accessibility: Ensure files are publicly accessible.
    • Link Generation: Create a public sharing link for your file or ZIP.
